Vegan Fashion Week
The first event of its kind, the inaugural Vegan Fashion Week took place in Los Angeles, CA in February of 2019. The multi-day event brought together artisans and designers from around the world to showcase cutting edge sustainable and cruelty-free alternatives for the fashion industry. In addition to having a piece featured in the main runway show on Saturday Night, I worked closely with Emmanuelle Rienda on the development of the event, leading the charge on the experiential design. I created two interactive installations speaking about textile waste in the fashion industry as well as animal cruelty in the fashion industry. The first event garnered over $6 million in media value and over 100 million social impressions, fueling momentum for the message of ethical and sustainable change in the fashion industry.
To keep up momentum of the movement, the second Vegan Fashion Week was held in October 2019 in Los Angeles, CA. The second week kicked off with the first annual Vegan Fashion Awards, held at the ACE Theater in DTLA. The evening was full of music and dance performances, and a fashion show that saw models in the latest vegan fashion roaming the aisles of the historic ACE Theater. Awards categories fielded early voting and nominations from the public, and final selections were made by a panel of esteemed members of the Vegan community, categories included best Vegan Designer, Vegan Makeup Artist, and Vegan Icon. I was honored to be awarded Best Vegan Designer and to have 3 looks featured on the runway during the second season.
